The Sweatpant Boners. The name, the music, the band, the stage show...everything about this band demands attention. To simply classify the band as comedy rock is simply the understatement of the year. It's rather the most entertaining rock show in the past twenty years. In a time of prepackaged, genre pleasing, type casted rock, The Swetpant Boners stick out like...well, a boner in sweatpants. Led by creative genius Robby Road Steamer and his amazing assortment of sweatpants and fanny packs, the band started out as a side project for the members of AFTeRSHOCK, Killswitch Engage and Unearth. Robby's major craving to take the world by storm led to the departure of all the above mentioned members as soon as the CD hit the stores when he simply stated "focus on this shit or get the fuck out." So they left. But Robby was quick to gather up a new group of hooligans and a new and improved five piece band burst onto the rock scene in late 2001. Encores at clubs all around the Boston and New England area and an amazing amount of radio exposure in New England in a short amount of time are only two examples of why you need to experience SPB. They sizzle. One song can be a pleasing little punk ditty about peeing with your father while the next is an epic 4:30 masterpiece of Springsteen proportions about games in the shower. The live show is the most crazy, energetic event of the year. If you haven't picked up on SPB yet, you will. Whether it be for the name, the music or their live show, you will.
