Darkest Hour
"The Mark Of Judas"
M.I.A. Records

Darkest Hour is no stranger to the dark side. Since Sept. 23rd, 1995, Darkest Hour have been releasing their evil induced anguish through their brand of venomous metal, gut wrenching, eerie vocals. Brutally thick guitars interspersed with groove parts. Ferocious double bass drums. Be afraid of what you can't control.

Their first release "The Misanthrope" on D.C. record label, Death Truck, marked the begining of their reign of terror. After numerous hometown appearances, Darkest Hour embarked on their first tour with then local partners in time, Damnation A.D. (Revelation Records) and Cast Iron Hike (Victory Records). This tour was followed by the release of their second EP, "The Prophacy Fulfilled" on Art Monk Construction Records, and the addition of current bass player, Billups Allen. After a summer on hiatus while guitarist Mike Schleibaum joined the local hardcore band Battery, Darkest Hour added guitarist Frederick Ziomek and toured the North East and Canada early that fall. Upon returning from that tour came the release of a split seven inch with Connecticut heavies, Ground Zero on East Coast Empire Records and recording for several other compilation releases.

The summer of 1999 saw the addition of Ryan Parish and Darkest Hour's first full U.S. tour finally exposing their malicious brand of metal nationwide. The Darkest Hour saga continues with their recent alignment to M.I.A. Records in the summer of 2000 and the release of their newest dose of tragedy, "The Mark Of Judas." A band rising from the ashes of hardcore/metal, Darkest Hour's new release is by far more musically and lyrically mature than any of their prior releases. A logical progression from the last two albums, this record is a mixture of contemporary Swedish death metal and American hardcore. Drawing from the influences of At The Gates, In Flames, Dismember, Carcass and Entombed, this record will set Darkest Hour apart from most American metal bands. recorded by Brian McTernan (Cave In, Frodus, Converge) at Salad Days Studio, this record promises to be their most dynamic record to date. Conceptually, this record delves into the darker side of the self (every song a different side of betrayal) exposing "The Mark Of Judas."
