MARTONE
"ZONE"
DDM Music

By Paul Autry

An instrumental album is what we have here. This 13-song release did nothing for me. You also have to realize that it takes a lot to impress me when it comes to instrumental albums. This doesn't have what it takes. The album does have some strong moments, I'll give it that. It also seems to me that this is the vision of a keyboardist, with that musician being Paul Martone. The impression I get is that this is his album, with guest players being brought in to help make his vision a reality. I'm not sure what kind of audience this is directed at because it's not like a guitar driven effort, which is what 95% of all instrumental albums are. But, you'd have to have an open mind in order to listen to this one. It's not for everybody, that's for sure.E-mail: martone@ultranet.ca Distributed by Guitar 9 Records: http://www.guitar9.com
