By Martha Hughes This is a great release! I wanted to get that out in the open first, in case like me, you were sitting on the edge of your seat. This is more brutal, (if you can believe it) than any of the band’s earlier recordings, and it is also textured within the rapid slaughter, including pauses of acoustic guitar and classical wanderings as is part of what makes European death different than its American cousin. Bart’s guitars sound like an army of millions, and with Erik’s vocals, (their last frontman Mike, left Sinister), there is the addition of deeper and much more Tampa-ish sounding vox. But let’s not forget the rhythm section of Aad on deafening drums and Alex on bass. There is nothing trendy on this CD, nothing to dance to, nothing to jump up and down to. How refreshingly evil! ©1999, BBHrdRpt |
