By Jym Harris 7th Heaven are from Chicago and apparently have been together for 15 years! The first comparison I can come up with is the little known T-Ride who appeared on the Encino Man soundtrack years ago. They have that same Funk/Techno type backbeat with driving Hard Rock/Metal guitars (not too far removed from such modern acts such as NIN & Rob Zombie). Singer Tony Di Guilio doesn’t use a huge range (like the aformentioned T-Ride), but has a strong vibrato. Sounds like they may have had a faulty popscreen when doing vocals though, which is quite noticable by the end of the disc (y’know, the loud B’s & P’s). This CD is very melodic in places, yet sort of angry sounding at other times. Tracks like ‘Gonna Break’ & ‘Seperated’ could easily be remixed by KMFDM and become club favorites.
