"Shapes Of Spirits"
By Paul Autry Here's an interesting CD. Close to an hours worth of music in only eight songs. In a sense and a word...epic. The vocals, a mix between male and female, sound a bit gothic to me. The band uses a decent combination of metal and classical, there's a haunting atmosphere going on in this recording. The production could've been touched up a bit. A fair release if you're into this style of music. But, I just couldn't latch on to the vibe that Ashes To Ashes were trying to create. You have to have an aquired taste for this style of music and, as open minded as I am when it comes to music, my taste doesn't extend too far into this style. |
