Well throw the lyric book right out the window. unless of course you're of the Latin-American background in which case you'll be fine. Now the last time I heard something like this. come to think of it, I'm not sure I ever have. But imagine something like Pissing Razors meets Puya without the percussive interplay and calypso runoff. We're talking aggression without restraint! But, after all, what are we to make of this? I can't understand a single word they're saying and yet none of it matters because I've listened to enough Death Metal in my life to learn to appreciate what it means to go slowly deaf and basically ignore that which is being forcibly executed through the vocal channel! Just about everything about Brujeria is supposed. The names are no one you've heard of before; They are believed to hail from somewhere South of the Border in the Southwestern parts; They wear masks to keep their real identities hidden-yet they're all rumored to have migrated from well known bands of the past. and their name is built upon black magic based upon a derivative of fear from the local religious mercenaries. One undeniable fact remains a constant however, regardless of their deceptive image-they're as hard-core as anyone you've ever heard. and what an absolutely phenomenal production job! And so could we come up with a better scripted made for TV movie? Their success has spanned now three albums, total obscurity and a penchant for maddening riffs and a red-faced rant directed at any and all who oppose them.
