"Psychotic Side"

By Paul Autry Dark Age is a heavy, aggressive unit from Chile. After listening to their ten song CD, "Psychotic Side," I found it a bit hard to put a label on these guys. It was easier to say what they weren't; they're not rock, they're not metal, they're not death, they're not hardcore, they're not thrash. But, you can hear elements of those styles all over this disc. I guess you can say they've done something different here, something original. While nothing really stood out for me, I can say that the songs are consistent. It's a good, solid album through and through. And, like I said, it's heavy and aggressive. So, if this sounds like something that might catch your eye (or, should I say, ear) then it will be worth the effort to check them out. You won't be disappointed if you're looking for some good headbangin' music, that's for sure. |
