"The Yellow & Black Attack Is Back!"
By Paul Autry I've always liked Stryper because, well, they were a great band. So, it was only a matter of time before they became the subject of a tribute album. But, this release by Guardian goes way beyond a regular old tribute, this is more like one band paying respect to another band and an album that they obviously admire. Guardian takes the entire "Yellow & Black Attack" album and makes it their own. This release is pretty much true to the original, although, from what I've heard, it sounds a bit heavier. Regardless of what anyone says, Stryper had quite an impact on the music scene. Their early releases showed a hunger, a hunger to accomplish more (which they eventually did) and Guardian captured even that, the feel of what "The Yellow & Black Attack" was all about when it was first released. They've done justice to the music of Stryper and for that, they should be proud. This will go down in history as one of the best tribute albums ever released.
