Hells Felons

By Paul Autry

Here's an album that rocks hard and sounds great. Once I heard this album, the term "bar rock" quickly came to mind. By that I mean, this is the kind of band that probably goes over well in those, uh, drinking establishments. Now, I'm not much of a drinker, but, if I'm ever out having a few cold ones, I'm hoping this band will be on stage. They've got the same rocking vibe of American Dog (who was featured in this publication previously when they were known as Hilljack). They also remind me of a heavier George Thorogood & The Destroyers. It's hard to pick something that stands out because, in my opinion, everything stands out. My least favorite track on the album would probably be "Lookin' For Trouble," due to the fact that it's an instrumental (that kind of reminds me of the AC/DC instrumentals). But, songs like "I'm Bad Like Jesse James," "Whisky Drinkin' And Sin" and my personal favorite, "Hey Bartender," make this an album worth having in any true rock and roll collection. You can't go wrong with this one. Now, pass me another beer!
