By Wayne Klinger Germany seems to still keep the heavy metal genre strong in the European market (wish we could) with some damn good bands. Ivory Tower is a 5-piece that do the prog-metal thing but with some added crunch here and there on the 10 track sophomore release. Helloween and Dream Theater come to mind musically and vocally, James LaBrie meets Lizzy Borden (a more settled down Lizzy---"Master of Disguise"). The songwriting is good but too many elements that critique the above-mentioned but good enough to satisfy your curiosity for about 64 minutes. Then again, I have never listened to their s/t debut either...so I hang in the balance on just this release. email: info@limb-music.de
