By Wayne Klinger I bought this only cuz it was in the used section at Media Play but I always liked this band despite they are getting like Aerosmith and AC/DC with similiar sounding songs and releases--not a bad thing if you dig the band in general but gets real old after awhile--I guess that's why they aren't on Atlantic anymore? They must have thought this as well--they are truly a unque band though in terms of songwriting and coming off with some relly good riffs--kind of the same with Collective Soul if you think of it --they do 3 or 4 really good songs to each CD and the rest just doesn't do much. 10 tracks on this new one and the usual thing if you know King's X--the synchronized vocals, some heavy riffs here and there and the strong vocals of Doug Pinnick. King's X is for the more hard rock/rock listener and after this many releases, you can assume they will remain their as well. Earlier releases are a lot better to be honest--"Gretchen Goes To Nebraska", "Faith Hope Love", "Out of the Silent Planet", etc. "Ear Candy" was pretty good for a recent release if you buy any newer ones. |
