By Wayne Klinger I really despise promotion over here for any good overseas metal labels or indie labels with tremendous bands!! A good example lies here with this band having 10 releases out. Lana is a female vocalist and considered "The American Queen of Progressive & Symphonic Rock"--I agree for the most part despite we've heard and are famliar with Theatre of Tragedy, The Gathering, Within Temptation, etc., Lana Lane takes it another level like what Savatage did when "Streets" was released. Joining Lana is veteran keyboardist Erik Norlander, Tony Franklin on bass (The Firm, Blue Murder), David Victor (Velocity), Arjen and Warby from Ayreon with Warby more known for his involvement with Gorefest. Since I'm not familiar with any prior releases (no thanks to our ways over here with music--gggrrrrrrrrrrr!!!) Lana has mentioned of a new musical direction with this release. I would have to agree because most of these tracks can be radio friendly but there are some really heavy doomy ones on here and couple more fast-paced ones. 73 minutes with a bonus track("Rhapsody"). One of my faves for this year in the prog-metal department--maybe not your cup of tea but I will be buying her prior releases. If you like female vocals, Lana is right up there with Anneke of The Gathering and some of them mainstream radio ones we hear from day to day.
