Leadfoot
"Take A Look"
The Music Cartel

By Vinnie Apicella

The latest in a long line of noteworthy artists taking their first step forward by looking toward the history of the 70's rock explosion, Leadfoot stomps on the scene and trudges over many of their competitors with this blazing new album, "Take a Look". And taking a look is the least of what you'll wanna do after an earful of "Redline", "Build in a Day" and "War Against You"! Featuring former C.O.C. vocalist Karl Agell and bassist Phil Swisher, there's little "animosity" lost between they and their former band mates, and the only real similarities if one's so inclined to go in that direction, would be the Southern-tinged harmonies that splash up from the needle burying (mud) recording level… "Take a Look" is Leadfoot's second full release, though first stateside having already been exposed to the more "relaxed" atmosphere that prevails overseas. Possessing the skills more attributable to a seasoned veteran, there's little question that they have indeed "been here" before even having yet to become a household name. "Take a Look" reeks with attitude and a loose vibe that's very American-flavored rock and roll in spite of which does not dispel their sense of unity that's packed within the very tight recording. Voyeuristic male listeners will be pleased to catch a glimpse of an apparent close acquaintance of the group on the inside cover--a whiter shade of… Jennifer Lopez? Cute indeed! But there's nothing remotely cute about Leadfoot and their latest release that like a "Loose Cannon" fires at random toward the weakening barriers that until now have been managing to keep them at bay!
