Nevermore

By Wayne Klinger

I have praised this band since the beginning when Sanctuary broke up and Warrel and Jim started this unique band.Since then Nevermore has released 4 impressive full-lengths(including this gem!)and an EP and it seems with every CD they put out they surpass the one before it. I raved over "Dreaming Neon Black" and damn if they didn't somehow kick it up another level with the precision songwriting, shifting of tempo, fine balancing between power and melody with the added shrill and chill of Warrel Dane's vocals. The solos on this particular release are the best I ever heard Nevermore put forth and the last few releases are still great in this category. The production is fantastic and mixing is unbelievable with some of the tricks that are done on here with vocals and effects. My enthusiasm for each song has gone through the roof with such powerful, melodic and emotional ideas.Pure listening enjoyment only in a way Nevermore can deliver.
