By Beca Marshall Pappa Roach is sure to be the next big band. If you combine Kid Rock and Rage Against the Machine, you come out with Pappa Roach. Jumping on the rap-core bandwagon, Pappa Roach has succeeded in forming what is sure to be another short-lived project. After the rap-core trend is over, Pappa Roach will be forgotten. Some of the guitar riffs on track two, "Last Resort" are pretty cool and the band is decent. It's too bad they don't use their talent to play some music with meaning instead of music that will make them a quick dollar. I must admit that as far as talent goes, Pappa Roach is among the forerunners of the rap-core revolution. But, like other bands in this genre, the songs tend to be similar and hard to distinguish from one another. Some guitar solos would probably help out the band with the true metal fans. Pappa Roach will have their time in the spotlight but this is not the kind of metal that will have any longevity in the music scene. Contact: www.paparoach.com |
