The Tender Idols
"Step on Over"
Tender Idols Entertainment

By Vinnie Apicella

The Georgian quintet's self-produced debut brims with flavorful pop-tinged rock with a passion that doesn't waver at any point among the ten songs. In what well could be the next wave of "songs of faith and devotion" that follows up what you might've once heard of before by a popular synth-pop act, the fact is The Tender Idols have a knack for writing tender, soothing music, that's emotional as it is comfortable. From the opening proclamation of "Never Get Closer than That" and its catchy opening verse to the double appearance of the title track, first in original form and later remixed, to the stillness of "The Fall", a ballad that finds the author waving goodbye to feelings of regret, The Tender Idols are a prime example of mature song-writing skills written from a place in the heart. Professionally done on all counts, "Step On Over" should make for a great "leap" to prominence for a group that knows how to stir a positive response with simply written, focused material that many listeners will identify with!
