By Paul Autry Do we really need another live album from George Thorogood? Not really, but, since he released another one, do we really need to add it to our collection? I say, "HELL YEAH!" Why? Because George Thorogood IS rock and roll music and the man is at his best in front of a live audience. That is where he's most creative. Another thing, I don't care how many times you hear songs like "I Drink Alone" or "Bad To The Bone," you never get tired of them because they're just so damn good. Also, how can you not love "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer?" You might have heard that story a million times, but, it gets better with every listen. How about his classic, "Get A Haircut?" That's included on this release as well. When you get down to it, this is a simple, basic, good time, rock and roll album and, the key word here is FUN. That's what music should be all about and when played by George Thorogood, that's what it IS all about. This concert was also released on video, which I haven't seen, but, it sounds like a very energetic performance and, if you like the album, the video is probably something you'd wanna pick up as well. All I have to say is, "Long live George Thorogood & The Destroyers...how sweet it is!" http://www.cmcinternational.com |
