By Paul Hanson Without a doubt, this will be in my top 10 of 2000. From track 1 to track 9, this band kicks off heavy track after heavy track. The lyrics are emotional ("Final State"), confrontational ("Trendmade Bitch," which includes the line "Trendmade bitch/ Rip off whore/ You make me want to fucking puke"), and matter-of-fact acceptance of the past ("Here Today, Gone Tomorrow" which includes the lyrics "It's all the same to me now/ It doesn't really matter what will come/ I might as well just close my eyes/ and face what I have done.") The drumming of Niclas Wahlen is superb, but, sadly, the dude has left the band, according to an email from band member Christian Alvestam. Now this gets tricky: the band is from Sweden, but the label, Pulverized, is based in Singapore. |
