By Tate Bengtson A Spanish black metal opera? Reading the band’s biography, I was immediately intrigued. User Ne’s dark epic, laden with different voices and imposing atmospheres, is as exciting and provocative trip into the romanticized splendour of pre-Roman Empire Iberia. The band’s complex arrangements and obvious musical talents work together in creating an impressive soundscape that mixes heavy black metal with bits of folk, opera, and atmospheric metal. Deep growls are contrasted by soaring female vocals, and the album evidences no shortage of excellent ideas. If experimental black metal with a totally unique approach intrigues your eardrums, definitely check this out. War Is Imminent Productions, Apt. 5069, 35080 Spain |
