By Paul Autry I wasn't too sure what to think when I was told to review an album by Kansas vocalist Steve Walsh. I wasn' t really a fan of Kansas, although they did have a few good songs. Or should I say, they had a few good songs that I liked. After listening to "Glossolalia," I have to be honest and say that it wasn't my cup of tea. I wouldn't go out and buy this album for the simple fact that it doesn't suit my personal listening tastes. Since I can listen to music with an open mind, I'm not gonna sit here and trash this album because it's not something I'd listen to on a regular basis. In fact, I was rather impressed with the amount of creativity that was poured into this recording. Magna Carta is known for releasing top quality progressive rock albums and, from the material I've heard from that label, I do have to say that Steve Walsh rises rather high above most of it. Whatever Mr. Walsh was hoping to accomplish with this album, he's done it (and then some). Long time fans won't be disappointed. |
