The way you present
yourself to a publication is somewhat important.
Bottom line is the music, that's what we actually review. But, we also
look at other things as well and it's not a smart idea to plaster a
sticker with your contact information smack dab in the middle of your
album cover. That makes you appear sloppy and unprofessional and that's
what happened here with Brick Bath. The reason I decided to point this
out is because "I Won't Live The Lie" is an exceptional
release.
Fourteen songs of pure metal aggression with a crystal clear sound that
absolutely crushes. I'm tempted to call them a hardcore band, but, I
don't think that would do them justice. I would feel better calling them
aggressive metal, I think that would cover 'em a lot better. Brick Bath
has the potential to be a national band...and I'd actually like to see
these guys reach a much larger audience because there's not a lot of
good, heavy stuff out there right now. Most of what I heard doesn't
measure up to this band. But, when sending your material out for review,
make sure you lose the sticker on the album cover. The more professional
you appear to be, the more likely it is that you'll get noticed by the
people you want to notice you. The music is already top quality...just
present it to people in a more professional manner and the world is
yours for the taking.
