Wow, if you discover one new band this year, make sure it's Cain's Alibi. Every single song off their CD, Sanctified, blew me away. The guitar work, vocals, drums, bass and song writing is phenomenal. Each song has a mood of its own while it remains melodic and heavy at the same time. The guitar part in "War Gods" is almost Dream Theater-like. Although this band is not as progressive as Dream Theater, they have the technical ability to be more progressive but keep over done technical parts on the side in favor of stronger song writing. Paul Miller's vocals are crystal clear and Krister Pihl's guitar work is incredible. I really can't say enough about this CD.
