By Paul Autry It's cool to watch a band grow into something bigger and better as time goes by and Chaos Theory is a band that has upped the damage level with every new release. I first came in contact with this band by way of 1996's "Scarred For Life" and I got another dose with 1999's "Unholy Trinity." Now, here we are in 2001 and they're at it again with a blistering, six song, self titled release that blows away their previous efforts, which is a feat in itself because they were both excellent albums. Chaos Theory is pure, no holds barred, aggressive metal. Some people might even go as far as to call them a power metal band for the simple fact that, when you listen to this release at even a slightly high volume, you can feel the power that spews forth from your stereo speakers. After three solid albums, it's about time that the powers that be take notice of this band because they've proved, time and time again, that they've got what it takes to deliver. This newest release is way cool. But, I suggest you pick up all three albums and listen to them in order so you can hear the musical growth of Chaos Theory over the years.
