Concept 7 By: Paul Autry |
|
The best way for me to desrcibe this album is to quote a line or two from the band bio..."Concept 7 were formed in 1999 with the aim of writing and producing a modern sounding blend of industrial-techno music. Their music has been defined as a unique style which fuses an industrial/techno/big beat feel with powerful guitar lines while maintaining progressive melodies." Now, according to the band bio, you have an idea of what this band is all about. As for my opinion, well, first of all, this release just didn't do anything for me. I think these songs would be better enjoyed if they were in a movie or on a tv show or something like that. In other words, this is "soundtrack" material. It's cool if you're watching a movie and this is playing in the backround (an action movie or something with a lot of car chases and explosions). But, to sit down and listen to this music just to listen to it...well, I myself can't get into doing it that way. Some of you out there in audience land might be able to and, if you're one of those people, you'll dig this. It's as simple as that. There's not really anything more I can say. Well, there is one other thing...I'd suggest checking out the mp3.com page to see what they have up there before you decide to purchase this release. At least you can hear some of what they have to offer before you decide to buy this album or not.
