Dawndeath Incinerator by: Jonathan Mariante |

Boy, is this some weird-ass shit! This bunch are a trio consisting of vocalist Vomucus Dawndeath (very appropriately named, as he "sings" like he is vomiting up mucous!), guitarist Spider (Drunken Spider would have been a better name for him because that is how he plays!), and percussionist Sinibyte. Their music (I use that term questionably) sounds like a mix of Morbid Angel, Pantera, and White Zombie. It is played at lightning speed, with crunchy, fuzztone guitars, and the type of programming and high-tech sound effects that White Zombie uses. Vomucus "sings" in the puke-your-guts-up death/grindcore style. Like I said, a strange mix of styles. As if their music weren't strange enough already, they actually have TWO versions of the title track, one following the other. The second version ends with some spacey, new age-y sound effects. It's not over there, either. The closing track, "Doom Of Neverending Buffoonery", is a parody of the title track(s), and ends in the same way as the second version of it (them). These guys sure do have a weird sense of humor. It also shows in some of the voice samples they use, like they have a sample of a woman saying, "If this is anyone's idea of entertainment, they have a serious problem!", and another one of (what sounds like) the same woman talking of how she'll brutally murder her boyfriend (right down to the very last detail) if she caught him cheating on her. The rest of the songs are pretty much as I described; fast, aggressive grindcore metal with crunchy, fuzztone riffs and WZ-type sound effects, plus some other rather strange things thrown in, like acoustic guitars and strange sound effects in some passages. I can't honestly say that I liked this, it's not my kind of thing at all, but it was interesting, if nothing else. If you're in the mood for something very strange and different, give this a whirl.
