Diabolic

Tampa Florida?s Diabolic has been through the wringer. Their two previous
releases were on a label they were quite unhappy with, now they?re with
kickass label Olympic. They?ve had problems with members who wound up
quitting or got fired. Their most recent tour with Marduk has been postponed
until January, 2002 due to the murderous acts of a madman hiding in some
shithole in Afghanistan. But nothing has ever stopped them from writing and
performing amazing death metal. I think this is their best release yet. The
chemistry between the four members is at its height of excellence. This isn?t
the typical mediocre death metal. Diabolic has always been good at mixing
some of the whirling chords of black metal into Americanized death metal,
blending up a wicked brew of evilness. Aantar ?Blastmaster? Coates is the
fastest drummer there is (I dare you to name someone with more powerful
legs), and with Brian Malone and Jerry Mortellaro trading off fiendish
riffs held together with Paul Ouellete?s masterful vox and binding
bass playing, a metalhead could never ask for a better band. The ten songs
on this new release are all great, but I would have to say that
?The Shallowed? is my very favorite. I love the guitar solo in the middle.
It screams and wails in diabolical pain. Buy this and then go see
them live, that is an order! ?
