| Let's
tackle this one rather quickly. G.W.C. is a punkabilly band. Take a bit
of punk and rockabilly and add a dash of country, surf and blues and you
have punkabilly...and, like I said, that's what this band (who happen
to be from Denmark) play. The album was produced by Tommy Hansen, the
same guy who produced Helloween. When I read that, I expected a little
more. But, on certain parts of the album, I thought the production could've
been a little better. This wasn't an album that I really got into. But,
it did have a few bright moments...like track three, "Kid Death." I guess
you could say that I've been spoiled by the straight forward punk music
of The Ramones and anything even remotely related to punk has to hold
up next to the albums I have in my collection and, sorry to say, G.W.C.
doesn't stand a chance. Because, if given a choice of listening to the
music I'm already familiar with or listening to something new, like "Smile,"
the late Joey Ramone will still be the one I turn to. http://www.diehardmusic.com More Ear Busters
