This is a three-song demo from a Finnish metal band called Holochaust. These guys are not to be confused with the British band Holocaust. However, they do seem influenced by the NWOBHM, as well as classic-style 80's thrash metal. Two of the songs, "Beyond The Violence" and "I Wanna Lie" are fist-to-face, headbanging rockers. The third tune, the title track, is a slower-paced, melancholy sounding tune. These guys can play quite well. Their music is heavy and hard-hitting, and as I said, they are heavily influenced by 80's heavy metal. Singer Doomer (who also plays guitar) sings in gruff, growley voice. Him and the other guitarist Rizzoth both smoke up their fretboards, while bassist Hofu Black and drummer Tony are good at their repective jobs as well, making for a tough rhythm section. These guys certainly have potential. Anyone who likes heavy, thrash-based metal should enjoy this. When these guys release their next full-length album, it will undoubtedly be decisive to their success. If they keep up like this, they should have no problem finding an audience.
