Minus

Jesus Christ Bobby-This
album almost burned my ears off! Minus are an
Icelandic band, but you'd never know they come from one of the coldest
countries in the world by their music. It's some scorchin' stuff! They
are a hardcore band, with a touch of NIN in their music, who play fast,
raw, aggressive, vicious music! Really goes for the throat, these
guys don't pull any punches! The singer (names were given but not
positions, so I don't know which one he is), screams and howls like he
is having a spike hammered through his nut sack! The playing is fast and
furious, rough and raw! Except on the ballad "Arctic
Exhibition", which
is an unplugged number, and reminds me of the Goo Goo Dolls! Guess
they needed to take a breather! The final song, "Pulse", also
lets up a
bit. This tune is a lighter rocker (when compared to their other songs),
something like a harder Green Day. These are the only two that really
slow things down, though, as the band storms their way through the rest
of the songs on the album! There is also a "hidden" extra
track,
which is really nothing more than five minutes of cacophony, with some
backwards playing. Don't understand why they put this on here, who wants
to hear that? These guys may not be the most gifted musicians, but they
do give a hundred percent to what they do, so you gotta give 'em credit
for that! They sure do have balls, if nothing else! They really know how
to put the "hard" in hardcore!
