Paul Autry
Derek Sherinian on keyboards,
Ty Tabor on guitar/vocals, John Myung on bass and Rod Morgenstein on
drums. How can you go wrong with this line up...you can't. These four
talented members of the music community have come together to form a
single, solid and very well structured unit. "Ice Cycles" is a perfect
example of what you can get if those involved have the same drive and
the same love for the project. I mean, come on...you've got Planet X,
Dream Theater, King's X and Winger all on the same record and, for 46
minutes and eight seconds, you're taken into the world of, shall we
say, a supergroup. When I realized who was in the band and where they
came from, I had no idea what to expect. But, I did have a feeling that
this would be a good album and, wouldn't you know it, I was right. It's
a tad different than what I normally listen to. But, I'll give this
album a few repeat spins in my stereo from time to time and I'm sure
you will too. Highlights here include "Oh, God" and the 10 minute, 33
second "Partial To The Bean (A Tragic American Quintogy)."
