Roadsaw/Blackrock

Another label I haven't
heard from in awhile since the releases of Cold
Mourning and Sixty Watt Shaman (before Spitfire picked them up). This is
a split CD of 4 songs; 2 from Roadsaw and 2 from Blackrock.
Similiarities could be the Black Sabbath ties for both but they do have
different styles even though both are filed under that "stoner
rock"
monicker. Roadsaw is somewhat in that Sixty Watt Shaman vein minus the
vocals with Sheavy for other influences or Fu Manchu/Orange Goblin while
Blackrock is more of a Kyuss with the 70's psychedelia passion for
songwriting like Santana or the Doobie Brothers (the more rock-oriented
songs). I know stoner rock isn't everyone's cup of tea but, sorry, I'm a
fan of it and maybe cuz I'm 31 and appreciate the more guitar driven
rock than the candy coated "nu-metal" that keeps coming out
that rarely
does guitar solos. This is raw-egded music here, no pretty fillers or
'new age" effects, just plain old guitars with that great
distortion and
a clinical approach to songwriting. I only hope to hear more from both
these bands.
