Rogue

Seems of lately that
Colorado is starting to pick up in the scene since
the days of Jag Panzer,Psyco Drama,Adnauseam,Karen Kenedy and others
that made alot of noise in the 80's to mid-90's. Rogue is definately
changing the face of dormancy with this sophomore effort of theirs! An
impressive 12-track CD with an included 2 bonus tracks from 2000. I have
to agree with their monicker of "aggressive metal" since their
inception
in 1996 and the notable acts they have shared the stage with like
Yngwie, Lynch Mob,Nevermore,Gwar,Lizzy Borden and Iced Earth to mention
just a few. Musically, there's an abundance of influences ranging from
Pantera,COC ,Anthrax,Dim-Mak and even Black Sabbath with some
interesting tribal inklings as well. The band is far from being any
clone! The vocals alone are definately worth hearing and very powerful
along with an almost dying artform of a "plunking" bass like
that of
Overkill or Primus. The songwriting is just enigmatic since you have no
clue what will turn up next for ideas. There's plenty here for some
label to sink their teeth into and if not, it will just prove how sad
the media really is! Rogue just flat-out rips!
