As I sit here listening
to this release, I began thinking about something. You know, when it
comes to an instrumental release, the best person to review something
like this should be a musician. I mean, I don't have an ear for music,
as far as playing is concerned. There could be bum notes all over the
album and I wouldn't even know it. All I know is what I like and what
I don't like and what sounds good to me and what doesn't sound good.
When it comes to instrumental music, I'm not easily impressed because
it's not a style of music that I can really get into on a personal level.
So, when I hear this style of music, I base my opinion on what I'm hearing.
Musically, these guys blend well together and for well over an hour,
you can hear just how well they blend. There's a good sound to it, which
is always a plus. But, for the most part, this one was a bit too laid
back for my tastes. In fact, for most of the release, I had it playing
while I was online, checking out various web pages. It was like backround
music for me. I'm not sure what you look for in instrumental music.
If it's hard rockin' stuff, you won't find too much pleasure here. If
it's just good music, you might wanna look into this recording.
