Swarm

Anybody out there
remember the band Death Angel? Well, if you do, then
here's a band that might be of some interest to you. Swarm features
three former Death Angel members, Mark Osegueda, Rob Cavestany and Andy
Galeon. Bassist Michael Isaiah completes the line up. Now, I really
don't care for EP's too much because, for the most part, there's usually
not enough songs on them to get a complete picture of what the band in
question is all about. But, this five song EP caught my attention
because there's some really good stuff on here. I was hooked the moment
I heard the opening track, "Dark Western," which is a really
cool tune.
I guess it would be safe to say that it's my favorite track off the
album. In the press release, vocalist Mark Osegueda is quoted as saying,
"For those of you who haven't seen us before, we're called Swarm.
We're
a rock band. We play rock." Notice how there's no hype in that
statement...it's almost like they're not trying to get your attention.
Well, I have an idea why such a simple statement was used to promote the
band. I think it's because the music will speak for itself. Once you
hear it, you're gonna become a fan. Like I said, there's some really
good stuff on this album and, honestly, they've got me hungry for more.
I'm looking forward to the full length release and I hope the band
doesn't keep us waiting for long because I'm sure their well isn't
anywhere close to running dry. Swarm rocks and don't you forget it.
