Tension Wire's "Explicits" is a ten song CD that's cool to listen to and what more can I really say? This is another release that's good for what it is, but, in the music business, being good just sometimes isn't enough. Now, if they're playing their local scene, they might go out and make a name for themselves and have a nice local following. But, if you want more than your immediate area to stand up and take notice of what you're doing, you have got to make more of an attempt to make something that's worth noticing and, if you're just good, sure, you might get noticed. But, if someone else comes along and they're doing the same thing you're doing, but, they're a little better at it...you'll get pushed to the side and people will soon forget about you. Now these songs don't suck, so, that means the band has the potential to make good music. What they need to do is take these songs and build on them, put some more meat on their bones and start moving up the food chain. A good way to do this...find a band that you really admire or one that has influenced you and try to become better than their best release, but, with your own style and sound. Always go for greatness...don't settle for being just good...especially when you have the potential to do more, as I believe Tension Wire can do.
