When you write about music for a living, you tend to hear the same styles of music over and over again. I mean, let's face it, in this day and age, it's hard to come up with something that is really original. So, if it's been done before, what does it take to make an album that's gonna attract attention? Well, first of all, it has to be a good album. If you're gonna do something that has been done before, you should at least try to do it better than the people who have done it before you. As soon as I started listening to this exceptional release by Wizard, I quickly realized that this was an album for the record books. I don't even need to write a long winded review on this release because I can sum it up in three simple words...epic power metal. That pretty much says it all. I really enjoy music that has a BIG sound (think Manowar) and this album certainly has that. There's two songs on here that pretty much say it all..."Defenders Of Metal" and "True Metal." You listen to these two songs and you'll have a clear understanding of what this band is thinking. "Head Of The Deceiver" is an instant classic that will stand the test of time!
