by Paul Autry

Even the most casual fan of Judas Priest doesn't need a history lesson when it comes to all this band has accomplished during the course of their lengthy career. Although that's what you get on this recently released DVD. It's not a full blown, everything you need to know history lesson. The main focus here, of course, is their 1980 classic "British Steel," an album that still holds up, rather well I might add, to this day. This release takes you into the heart and soul of Judas Priest and into the frame of mind they were in when they were creating this metal masterpiece. Up close and personal interviews with the men behind the music as well as some classic footage of the band in action. Watching this release shows you that there's more to music than simply putting a product out. An album, or even a song, is more than just entertainment for the masses or a creation from the people who created it. It's a permanent record, an audio photograph of who Judas Priest was at this specific moment in time. For the metal fan, "British Steel" gave us some classic tunes such as "Breaking The Law" and "Living After Midnight," songs that are still in heavy rotation on the radio and performed by almost every local band that does covers. You might appreciate learning how these songs came into being. No stone is left unturned and once you run through the entire contents of this release, you'll know everything there is to know about "British Steel." Plus, you'll get to see some exciting footage of the band as well. It's not their complete history, but, it's a perfect glimpse into a single moment of that history. A moment that, twenty two years later, still stands the test of time. http://www.eaglevisionusa.com
