Written By: Paul Autry The best way to sum up this release is to quote what's written on the back of the box because, I believe, that says it all. And I quote, "The only available video of Black Flag featuring frenetic frontman Henry Rollins. An amazing performance filmed during one of the bands rare visits to the UK at the Bier Keller in Bradford during 1984." Really...after reading that, what more needs to be said? Nothing, really. But, since I couldn't get away with using that as a review, I'll tell you a little more. The video was professionally filmed but, it does have a bootleg quality to it...and I don't mean that in a bad way. It's very raw, very real. In other words, it's like you're right there watching the show. A shirtless/in shorts Henry Rollins jumps around the stage like a man possessed, which kind of reminded me of John Belushi's old Joe Cocker imitation with all the jerky body movements...like he stuck his finger in a light socket and flipped the switched to "ON." Black Flag rips through 14 different songs with pure aggression. Nothing spectacular as far as the stage show is concerned. So, if you're to enjoy this release, your enjoyment will come by simply watching the band crank out their tunes and the sonic frenzy in which they do it. http://www.cherryred.co.uk
