Voice Of The Underground

PRESENTS

KAOS RISING

Pure death vox covering pounding drums and head-splitting  bass guitars alternating with tasty and complex guitar  licks covering a more complex rhythm. The effect is beyond  description. Formed in the end of 1999 the band has gone through quite  a bit. After playing their first couple shows they recorded  a demo entitled "Wiped Away". 5 songs of hate, pain and rage. They continued playing shows and growing their fanbase and  promoting the band and the demo.  From this demo they signed with JetSpeed Records Group based  in Hollywood, CA. In late July of 2001 Kaos went to LA and  recorded their first full length entitled "Welcome To The Violence" .

We have been together for about 2 1/2 years now.

In your own words describe your band's sound & influences?

HARDCORE STOMPING DEATH GROOVE!! Influenced by: Machine Head, Dying Fetus, Korn, Pessimist, Fear Factory, Morbid Angel, etc..

Name some bands in which you've shared the stage & opened?

We have played many many shows, but some of the better ones were with ProPain, Disgorge USA, Dying Fetus, Jungle Rot, Gorgasm. Many opportuinities are ahead so we will be playing with bigger bands as time progresses.

Where & what studio did the production of Welcome To The Violence take place?

Paragon Studios - Chicago, IL - Jack Le Tourneau

Who came up with the cover design & how did your logo come about ?

Greg and Casey came up with the cover design. The logo started out similar to what it is now, but as we have progressed it has also progressed and will continue to do so.

What is the current scene like in your local area & how does your band fit in?

We kind of linger between a few scenes, we've played with nu-metal bands, Hardcore, Death Metal, all seem to accept and enjoy. All scenes seem strong at the moment and seem to accept our style well.

What's the bands long & short term goals as far as touring, recording, writeing ect ?

We are playing tri-state shows and catching a few tours here and there for a couple dates. We are booked solid for a while now. Our original tour was postponed due to label shit. But it is still in the works. Presently, we are writing some of the best material yet for the next release hopefully early spring.

What would you say is your biggest gripe about the music industry?

The fact that it is considered a business and not an artform.

Has there been any label interest ?

A few other small labels have contacted us, but we are going to see what happens after the summer. But yes we are in the mix for a new label.

What CD is in your player at this moment?

Disgorge USA
